How did I apply for my US Visa and got approved here in Bahrain?
Maybe one of the most feared visa application of Filipinos is the US VISA as we heard a lot of stories being denied on their application after spending a lot. But the truth is approval rate is still higher than those that are being denied.
I applied my visa in Bahrain where I am currently residing and working. But the general process of application of non-immigrant visa here and most US Embassy is similar. So I made a guide below to help those who also plan to visit United States of America
📌Go to USTravelDocs website for complete guidelines of Non Immigrant Visa. Read it carefully. This will give you an overview of different visas as well as the steps. It will help you a lot.
📌Fill in the DS 160 Online Application form here.
✅- make sure to take note your DS 160 Application ID. You need this if you would like to retrieve back your application
✅- If you think you cannot finish filling in the form, always save your file on your computer
✅- IMPORTANT: Do not forget the travel details you input in the application form as this will not be included in the prinout of the DS 160. I need to change my application form as i forget the details that i put and cannot found it in the printed form. at sure na tatanungin yan ng consul
📌Once completed application, you can print a copy of it for your reference and print the confirmation page
📌Pay the Visa Fee of USD 160. This is non refundable. The bank will give you the receipt, ask the bank for the reference number that you will encode for booking your appointment.
📌Go to this website https://cgifederal.secure.force.com , create an account and schedule your appointment. You can only schedule appointment, 24hrs after you secure your visa fee payment. Actually lalabas naman din nga pala automatically ung reference number ng binarayan mo sa bank dun sa page kungbsan ka magbset appointment.
📌At the embassy, bring all the documents that will support your applications. I brought with me the following docs
✅- DS 160 confirmation page
✅- Appointment Schedule
✅- Passport (old and new)
✅- 2 x 2 picture
✅- Detailed itinerary
✅- Certificate of Employment and compensation
✅- Salary slip (3months)
✅- 6month bank statement (print all your saving accnt statement if you have from several banks)
✅- Other proof of financial capability and investments such as stock certificate, VUL Statement, credit card statement
📌Clear all the security checks and proceed at the application window
✅- first window, submit your current passport, ds 160 confirmation page and 2 x 2 picture
✅- They will give you a number and wait until you are called
✅- Second window, finger print scanning
✅- Third window, actual interview
📌During the interview, i was asked the following questions
✅1. Why you will go to the US- just for aquick vacation
✅2. Where you will go – new york and a day trip to washington
✅3. DC? – yes
✅4. When – april 1-10 2019
✅5. Why are you applying so early – jan ako nag stutter, bat nga ba ang aga ko nag apply? Hahaha. Sabi ko, because im available this time.
✅6. You dont have othe time between nov-march? – so super isip ako, at eto ang nasabi ko, i think the earlier the better. Sabay smile.
✅7. So How many years have you been here in bahrain – 6yrs
✅8. Whats your work? – im a chemist
✅9. From what Company – muharaq stp
✅10. For how long- more than 4yrs, 5yr on March 2019
✅11. Have you traveled before -Yes, enumerate ko lahat ng bansa.
✅12. Then, ohh you been to paris? (Tonong hindi kumbinsido) Todo scan scan sya sa passport ko, eh bago un, wala pa tatak. Sabi ko thats my new passport. Hiningi luma kong passport. Bigay ko naman. Scan ulit sya
✅13. Ok your your visa is approved, you can come back on thursday to pick it up.
✅14. Me with a big smile, 😀 Thank you!
📌The consul did not ask any other documents. So hindi ko talaga nailabas ang mga dala ko. The only thing he asked was my old passport to validate my travel history.
📌So just be confident and make sure you know what you have mentioned sa application form nyo.
📌And as what all other blog post said, basic questions will just come from your application form as you can notice sa QnA above. Consul will just have follow up questions based on your answers.
Goodluck for all applicants and happy travels to us.
By the way, here are the countries i have visited from the last 5 years.
